Hero Shield is an ability for the Gunner class in Battlefield Heroes. It is used to absorb damage and can be passed onto any near by teammates. This "shield" can be destroyed once it has taken a certain amount of damage and will also disappear when the ability runs out. When Hero Shield is activated by a gunner, he will be swathed in a blue force field and will have a little shield sign appear over his head. This ability was changed slightly during the Heroes Of The Fall update. This has improved the gunner support credentials even more and it can now be shared with nearby heroes.
