The Sharifs are a minority ethnic group that inhabit the north coast of the Maghreb. A combination of Iberian Celts and Numidian Berbers make up the Sharif communities. Too small to be of any importance in the early period of Celtic Rules, the Sharifs become more significant in the later stages of the history. The Sharifs made a major contribution to the construction of the Maghreb's foremost city - Fez.
