Ringer was one of many criminals called to a unnamed bar in Ohio by Firebrand to meet about the threat of Scourge. However, Scourge was secretly the bartender. All who showed up were killed. His wife Leila blamed both Spider-Man and Beetle for his death. He was later resurrected as a cyborg but his body could not handle the conversion, and he soon died.
