  • The USS Scandalon (NX-71125)' was a prototype Federation starship in Starfleet service during the latter half of the 24th century. The Scandalon was designed by Jonathan Hofmann, and launched in 2364. She was assigned to the Eagle's Nest Squadron, captained by Commander Stephen Tecklenberg. During the 2360s, the Scandalons port of call was Starbase 20. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "Wings As Eagles", "Scandalon", "Salvation", et. al) Originally designed as a reconnaissance scout, some of the Scandalon's early missions included investigating the lab complex of Dr. Paul Manheim and the ruins of the planet Minos. In late 2364, the Scandalon and the Eagles were assigned to track the origin of the parasites who had attempted to gain control of Starfleet Command. After six weeks, the ship was diverted to Sector 30, and discovered the first evidence of Borg incursions into the Alpha Quadrant. (PDN: "Reflections", "Wings As Eagles", "Scandalon") For the next decade, the Scandalon executed many dangerous and sometimes black bag operations. After the disappearance of Captain Tecklenberg in 2376, Admiral Alynna Nechayev disbanded the Eagle's Nest Squadron, and ordered the Scandalon mothballed. (PDN: "Cloak and Dagger") Timothy Sinclair, Justin Shive, Ben Bartholomew, Mark Montgomery, Joshua Gorman, Tobias Moore and Bradley Powell all served aboard the Scandalon early in their careers. (PDN: "Wings As Eagles", "Not Home Yet") In 2364, Christmas was celebrated aboard the Scandalon with a Western-themed "round-up." It became an annual tradition, one that Timothy Sinclair would revive years later on his own command, the USS Pendragon. (PDN: "Midnight Clear") The ship's motto was: Be the Truth that will offend them one and all; a stone that makes men stumble and a rock that makes them fall. (PDN: "Scandalon", "Wings As Eagles")
