A little miscellan... use as you wish.
  • The tonfa Hibari's carrying around don't actually belong to him. Perhaps they have something to do with the reason why he's not with the Guild anymore? You'd think a tough-ass guy would smoke something... well, a little rougher than cloves. It may not look it, but he's actually very fond of books. Poetry escapes him, though. Tonfa are a strange choice of weapon for someone as violent as him. Hibari, however, picked these out to give him an extra challenge at mastering something. ...That, and there's nothing quite so lovely as the sound of bludgeoning when you're beating the shit out of someone. Hibari's old callsign with the Guild was Skylark, an allusion to what his last name actually means in some language that most people have forgotten.

  • There's more history between him and Byakuran than both of them would ever care to speak about with anyone. Some people say that Hibari's actually got a wife waiting for him at home. A guy like that... who would've thought? For all the lip and bad attitude, it would appear as though Hibari's man-crush on his captain, Alex Roxe, is the real, REAL reason why he's on the Silvana in the first place.

  • PRE-STORY TIMELINE Wishing is for herbivores: Apparently, Yuuko Ichihara is EVERYWHERE. PRESENT TIMELINE Pre-departure: The hows and whys of Hibari ending up on the Kill-Em-All Silvana. It wasn't about the pay or the killing, for once. While looking for pirates... Hibari sucks at making friends. I think we knew that well enough already though. First Campaign: Doing what he does best. See also: killing. Byakuran pays a visit. Hibari is not pleased. He just wants to fix his planes, okay. Feast Shenanigans. Since everyone deserves a break after beating some pirates. On winged girls and other strangeness after them pirate attacks. Flying is like this: John Watson hires Hibari for a day, and gets more than what he bargained for. Evil does not take sick days: His first real run-in with Gin. How much does this guy know? A guy, a girl and a bottle of booze: Talk, after fixing planes. It starts out fine, but doesn't end well. Clouds up on a hill: Aizen wanted to help out with the planes. Hibari was hoping he wouldn't. Shooting fish in a barrel: Toshirou Spotting #2. No, they definitely don't get along. In ur hangar deck--: Can't a guy get a little privacy? Tribble hunting: Nuff said.

  • Mercurial, to say the least, bored by most things beyond combat and books, fiercely independent and highly intolerant of crowds . If he isn't deathly quiet, cold and aloof, he's irritable. If he isn't irritable, he's deathly quiet, cold and aloof. Rinse, repeat. Not a lot of things impress Hibari, and this might be because of the way he pushes himself. He has no concept of limits; limits are meant to be surpassed at all costs, even if it kills him in the end. He does not follow rules that he hasn't set himself, or ones that someone particularly strong or of a higher authority that he happens to respect hasn't set in for him. Anything beyond that is free game for him, and he's not going to apologize. Although it looks like Hibari is, by all rights, impossible to get along with and loyal to no one but himself, Hibari does have a very strong sense of duty, honor and responsibility when it comes to the few people or things that he does care about. If he says he's sticking by a ship, he will, and he'll follow orders to the dot without question. Besides, there's nothing like a little action to spice up one's day. Overall, anti-social might be one way of looking at Hibari, but the more proper term might be asocial: human beings and human affairs do not interest him at all, and he's short on the sympathy in any and all situations. His fierce sense of independence also doesn't help - sure, he'll follow orders, and he MIGHT back you up if it interests him, but he won't expend any more effort than necessary. He'll also be the first one to back out if there isn't enough fighting to go around or if someone else can already take care of things in his stead. Hibari also sucks at taking care of himself, beyond the basics - he eats, drinks and sleeps like someone constantly on the move to somewhere else, and is never in one place for very long. He's the type who thinks that the best way to take care of a fever is to sweat it out of one's system by fighting more, and harder. It comes with not believing in the concept of slowing down, or of limits.

  • It might be a little dramatic to say it, but Hibari was, by all definitions, a kid with no past and no real future: he was born on the streets of Kropmork, never met his father and remembers his mother for three things: her drinking, her drugs and her total denial of his existence. Suffice to say, Hibari left home as soon as he was able and carved out a living for himself as much as he could, given the sort of things that happen at night in his home town. Up until the age of fifteen, Hibari was the nameless, scruffy-haired kid prowling the back alleys, bludgeoning the drunks who were stupid enough to stumble through their on the way home - it was his choice method of scrounging up enough cash to feed himself. One night, however, he happened to bite off more than he could chew when he tried his luck against a man who happened to be a rather skilled member of the Assassins' Guild. By all rights and purposes, he should have died that night. What ended up happening, however, was that he woke up in a real bed with his injuries properly tended to and his patron fiddling with his weapons - a pair of gunmetal gray tonfa, sleek and gray in the light of the gas lamp in the room. His new patron apparently planned on making him a part of the Guild whether he liked it not, and Hibari, after four unsuccessful attempts at breaking out , Hibari wisely figured that his new patron was respectably strong and it might have been a good idea to follow along with his wishes. Besides, any guy that could beat the crap out of him had to be pretty amazing. On that day, the boy was given a name - Kyouya Hibari, with the first name being a mocking note on his attitude in a language nobody speaks anymore and the last a result of his patron's whims - and a real place to call his own. Hibari spent the next few years in training, functioning as the transporter for his patron and the real members of the Guild - assassins need a quick get away from the scene when a job's done, after all. He was eventually allowed to take on jobs of his own by eighteen, and it wasn't long before he was making a pretty decent name for himself both within and beyond his Guild as the Skylark, the tonfa-wielding vicious kid who flew in, dismantled people the way mechanics dismantled machines, and flew out without so much as a word of explanation. It was a good life, for the most part, and one wonders why Hibari up and left before he hit 22. He doesn't talk much about it, and anybody who bothers him on the topic for too long usually gets a flat look and a vicious one-two from his tonfa in return.

  • Byakuran: Mention this guy's name to him, and Hibari's bound to want to kill you . Still: there is clearly SOMETHING going on between these two, but Hibari is tight-lipped about it. Good luck trying to get him to talk on the matter. Hitsugaya Toshirou: Grumpy-pants kid, but Hibari DOES want to know what was up with those weird vibes he picked up when they first met. They couldn't have belonged to Hitsugaya. ...Could they? Shinjiro Aragaki: They've barely talked, but they seem to have one thing in common: they like being alone. That's enough to make Hibari like someone, apparently. Your space, my space. That sort of thing. Hikari Glie: She's a girl with wings. That is both weird and wrong and very intriguing. That annoying blond stalker in the hangar: ...Ought to get his name someday. Ikkaku: They ran into each other and nearly fought each other during Hibari's first pirate attack with the Silvana - they've recently sparred with each other again, en-route to Bellcius. Hibari's looking forward to more encounters in the future. Yuuko: Hibari's not actually aware of the fact that Yuuko, the Wish Granter, is on the same ship that he is... she once granted a Wish for his master, and hounded him on the get-go, claiming that there was something he wanted. Hibari, of course, refuses to believe her. Watson: Hibari's responsible for bringing Watson up to the Silvana, and he apparently made a smashing first impression on the man. He doesn't really mind the guy too much, although he does nag a little. Gin Ichimaru: He's not sure what to make of this guy, but he does know one thing: he doesn't like him. At all. Tear: She was below his radar until their latest talk. Hibari feels that she's hiding something. He hates people who keep secrets. Aizen: He smiles a lot, and Hibari's lived in Kropmark long enough to know that that's never a good thing. It's the nice guys you have to watch out for, after all. Rangiku: Just... one thing. She's got cleavage the depth and breadth of Mordor. Sara: Under his radar, for the moment. At least she knows how to start up a plane. Claus: Harmless enough. If he can hold his own in a dogfight, even better.
