  • Laurell K. Hamilton is the writer of one Star Trek: The Next Generation novel, Nightshade. She lives in Missouri with her husband and daughter. Hamilton has become much more well-known in the years since the original publication of Nightshade as the author of two series of supernatural novels featuring the characters Anita Blake and Merry Gentry. The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series has been popular enough to appear on The New York Times Best Seller List. In January 2010, it was announced that Nightshade would be reprinted that September to fill a gap in the Star Trek publishing schedule. [1]
