  • The Reformed Alliance Government was a new government of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances formed by Admiral Nostradamus Zaarin after his military coup in 45 ABY. Since the state was also officially called the "Galactic Alliance", to distinguish it from Wynn Dorvan's in-exile government, it was often referred to as the Galactic Alliance-Coruscant (while Dorvan's was called the Galactic Alliance-Dac). Being led by Admiral Zaarin as a military junta, it was often also called the Zaarin government or the Zaarin regime. Though it was officially a "constitutional republic", it's new constitution, the New Alliance Charter, was suspended by Zaarin and Coruscant was under martial law. The Galactic Senate was also suspended, which led to many worlds of the Alliance not recognizing this new government, and instead aligning themselves with the government of Wynn Dorvan, which was based on Dac. Admiral Zaarin created the government as he viewed Dorvan's government as unfit to lead the galaxy, and too corrupt and bureaucratic. He appointed various ministers and other officials, though most of the real power rested with him and his military officers. Zaarin himself was both head of state and head of government as the "Minister Chairman". He claimed elections would be held after the "illegitimate" government of Dorvan was defeated. His regime had little support, and a combined strike team of Jedi and special forces troops infiltrated Coruscant to stop Zaarin. The killed or captured many of Zaarin's officials and officers, and arrested Zaarin, among mass protests on Coruscant against his regime. After his arrest, the Reformed Government was dissolved, and Wynn Dorvan moved his government back to Coruscant, ending the crisis. Zaarin himself was found guilty of various charges and executed in 46 ABY.
