John Michael Grimes (14th September 1924 to 22nd November 1994) was the designer of 22 episodes of Coronation Street from November 1966 to February 1967. He also designed four episodes of the spin-off Pardon the Expression in 1966. He television career of some thirty years was spent almost entirely at Granada Television where he worked on series such as The Man in Room 17, The Corridor People, Mr Rose, Nearest and Dearest, Big Breadwinner Hog, A Family at War, Strangers, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Bulman, Maigret and Wycliffe.
