| - Aaron School opened its doors in 2003 as a nursery and early elementary school for children not ready for mainstream education because of learning, language, attention, social skills, and/or sensory challenges. In response to requests from parents and advocates, Aaron has grown vertically and horizontally over the years. It now occupies two buildings, Located on 45th and 30th Street, respectively, on the East Side of Manhattan. Aaron School provides integrated academic, enrichment, and therapeutic services to children in grades K‐12, with the goal of enabling each student to become a confident and successful learner. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing, skill based developmentally appropriate educational environment based on students’ individual needs. The elementary school is located on East 45th street, between 1st and 2nd avenue. In addition to its academic program, it offers a social skills program, art, music, physical education, computer lab and library. It also provides Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Psychological Counseling. The Aaron High School curriculum builds upon prior skill and content learning in the elementary and middle grades. Student learning is focused on real world application of mastered concepts with the goal of independence, post secondary options, and adult success in mind. Instruction is individualized per student, and each child’s progress is consistently assessed, both formally and informally. Aaron School is one of a number of private, for-profit schools in New York City that are owned by MetSchools, Inc. Aaron is an entity operated by MetSchool’s subsidiary, REBA Schools, run my Daniel Koffler. Other schools run by the MetSchools organization include Williamsburg Northside, Rebecca School, Sunshine Developmental School, Sunshine School, Vernon Avenue Children's School, and Montclare Children’s School.
