Each club in the NFL has a designated Director of Player Engagement. The directors of Player Engagement at the club level, although independent, will at times collaborate with the league level Player Engagement organization for the mutual value and benefit to the NFL and its community. On April 19th, 2012 the Player Engagement staff and club Directors of Player Engagement completed a year-long executive education program to receive their certifications as Athlete-Development Professionals. The NFL-Wharton Athlete Development Professional Certification, developed by Player Engagement and Wharton’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education, provided extensive training and education in topic areas essential to working in the field of athlete development and the sports industry in general. NFL Player Engagement and the club directors of Player Engagement join in collective efforts like these to further the professional development of its staff and athletes.
