The regiment perpetuates the 2nd Regiment of York Militia from the War of 1812 as well as the 4th, 86th, 120th, 129th, and 205th Battalions, Canadian Expeditionary Force from the First World War. The anniversary of Dieppe is recognized each year by the regiment.
