George Lewis Jr. was born 1983 in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida. He began his career singing in the church choir. Lewis grew up listening to punk music, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Boyz II Men, Keith Sweat and Bobby Brown. In 2000, he moved to Boston to start his band, Mad Man Films, which broke up in 2006. In 2010, Lewis moved to Brooklyn, New York, and began working under the name of Twin Shadow. He released his first album, "Forget", in 2010, and following this up with "Confess" in 2012.
