Bengt G:son Nordenskiöld (September 6, 1891 - January 28, 1983), was a general in the Swedish Air Force and Chief of Staff 1942-1954. In 1910 Nordenskiöld started as a volunteer at Svea Livgarde, later attending the Swedish Armed Forces Military Academy at Karlberg Castle. On 28 January 1928, he was made a captain in the general staff. During 1931 he went through aircraft recognition training at F5 Ljungbyhed, after which he was trained as a pilot. In 1936, Nordenskiöld started work in the recently created air staff under General Torsten Friis, later becoming a Lieutenant General. He was appointed Chief of the Airforce in 1942. Nordenskiöld was the first Chief of the Airforce with a pilot education. He was made a General in 1954.
