Buddists follow a philosophy, a way of living life, following the Four Noble Truths. This path may or may not have deities. Tibetan Buddhism (which the Dalai Llama comes from) has Gods and demons and religious rituals. Other forms of Buddhism worship Buddha as a deity in South East Asia. There are other kinds of Buddhism, such as Mahayana Buddhism and Theravadan Buddhism which do not have a god or gods. They simply follow the teachings of the Buddha and seek nirvana, extinction, which is the release from the cycle of birth and rebirth.
