Deed is Done is a song written by Dave Matthews. The idea of the song came from a visit Dave had with a terminally ill child whose last wish was to meet Dave. Dave wrote the song in response to how he believed it was unfair for someone to die so young. The song was recorded in 1995 during the Crash sessions but it was left off the album(along with Help Myself and True Reflections). It was left off the album mainly because it wasn't "Road-Tested". After 1995 it was only played full band twice but was played 14 times during the Dave and Tim Winter tour of 1996. After 1996 is was played very sparsely and hasn't seen the light of day since 1999.
