The PKX 12.7 mm machinegun is the primary weapon of the Soviet Union's KDB-5 Sickle walkers. Three of these heavy machineguns are installed on each Sickle, each covering a 130-degree firing arc around the vehicle, allowing the Sickle to engage multiple targets simultaneously. The PKX machinegun is effective against infantry and light vehicles, but ineffective against heavily armored units and structures. Furthermore, the design of the Sickle's turrets mean that they cannot swivel vertically far enough to engage enemy aircraft.
