The Wayland's Warhammer's Skiff was a modified cargo skiff. Similar to what he did with the group's A-A5 speeder truck, Syd N'aanzi took a vehicle which wasn't designed for combat and modified it until it became a suitable assault craft. Wayland's Warhammer used Bantha-II cargo skiffs as light, rapid-deployment troop transports. While they were still not suitable for front-line fighting, the skiffs allowed small numbers of soldiers and support personnel to be delivered quickly wherever they were needed.
