Hurricane Sandra was the strongest hurricane ever recorded. It was a Category 7 hurricane with winds of 235 mph and a minimum pressure of 848 millibars. It exceeded the 200 mph winds from Hurricane Patricia just five weeks earlier. It attained its peak intensity on Thanksgiving Day - becoming the first Thanksgiving East Pacific tropical cyclone in history.
