Space-weathering disturbances that occur several times per day at Earth and last about one to three hours. They are accompanied by various phenomena, including aurora in Arctic and Antarctic skies. They associated with hazardous energetic particle events that can interfere with communication and Earth-observing satellites. Less intense than those observed at Mercury.
