The Gigantor-class battle droid was an ultra-heavy battle droid, and was one of the largest battle droids ever built, which was designed and produced by Galactic Mechanical Manufacturing Corporation (a subsidiary of Galactic Industries) with terrorfying an enemy in mind. Gigantor was an exotic one-off series from the Human-sized battle droids typically made by GMMC. Gigantor was designed to be able to combat enemy vehicles and large numbers of enemy infantry and to be able to intimidate enemies with its huge height and heavy weaponry into not attacking, and to be able to quickly defeat anyone foolish enough to try attacking it.

| - The Gigantor-class battle droid was an ultra-heavy battle droid, and was one of the largest battle droids ever built, which was designed and produced by Galactic Mechanical Manufacturing Corporation (a subsidiary of Galactic Industries) with terrorfying an enemy in mind. The prototype, called GIGANTOR 001, was created in 967 ABY and was used by Galactic Mechanical Manufacturing Corporation Security, a private military force whose purpose was to defend company property against thieves and anyone who would try to damage the company's factories. Mark I began production later the same year when GMMC produced the first ever commercially-available Gigantor, called GIGANTOR MK I/U1 (GIGANTOR Mark I/Unit 1), U1 was leased to the Galactic Federation of Sentient Species Army for field-testing, the Army was pleased and bought U1 and placed an initial order for 100 Gigantor Mark Is. After the success of the Mark I, GMMC decided to release the Mark II and III models, these models had shield generators equipped (unlike Mark I) and Mark III had a laser beam emitter installed for precision cutting. Alex Zakkan, chairman and founder of Galactic Industries, the parent company of GMMC, owned a Gigantor Mark I which served in his private Zakkan Estate Security Force (ZESF), Alex Zakkan had speciol giant tunnels built underneath his massive estate so his Gigantor could quickly travel anywhere in the estate in case of an assault. The ZESF Gigantor Mark I stayed in service on the Zakkan Estate for 150 years until it was retired by Alex's great-great-grandson, Ben Zakkan, who then used it as a statue in the centre of the Central Courtyard. After the Mark I was retired the ZESF got a new Mark III model. After being retired Alex decided not to remove the hardware from the ZESF Mark I, he decided to leave it simply de-activated and able to be re-activated with a speciol re-activation signal. He did this in case the Mark III was to be destroyed in an assault on the estate then the Mark I statue could be re-activated to take its place. The N'Akkiarlian Army also bought Gigantor models when they joined the galaxy in 1,037 ABY, they were impressed with them.
