In Donkey Kong Country/Land, they attack by shooting coconuts while in the sequels, they swoop down at Diddy and Dixie Kong. In all four games, they can be defeated when jumped on. They wear red bandanna on their heads in Donkey Kong Country 2/Land 2.

The first appearance of Mini-Neckies was in Donkey Kong Country. In this game, they would attack Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong by spitting coconuts at them. They later appeared in the game's pseudo-sequel, Donkey Kong Land. Here, they have the same attack patterns as they did in the previous game, and still fired coconuts at the Kongs.
