J. W. Lockett (February 23, 1937 – December 14, 1999) was an American football fullback in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers (1961), Dallas Cowboys (1961–62), Baltimore Colts (1963), and the Washington Redskins(1964) and in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes (1965–66). During his first season with the Alouettes he was the team's leading rusher, playing 12 games, gaining 683 yards on 181 carries, the longest for 29 yards, and 8 touchdowns. He only played 2 games for the Larks in 1966, picking up 103 yards on 22 attempts. He played college football at the University of Central Oklahoma and was inducted into that university's sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
