Often, vocal cords are removed to prevent the growling and moaning typical of zombies, where it is undesired. Creating a taxim is the masterpiece of an aspiring necromancer, and often, the techniques are first used on a deceased individual beloved to the aspirant. Like regular zombies, taxims are mindlessly loyal to their necromancer or owner, but uncontrollable when on their own, going on the zombie-typical rampage. The process used to create mummies.
