Thomas John Blacketer (1881-1953) was a Labour Party politician active in the Poplar area. Elected to Poplar Borough Council in 1919 as one of the councillors representing Bromley North West, he held the seat at subsequent elections in 1922, 1925, 1928, 1931 and 1934. He was Mayor of Poplar in 1930-1. He retired from the borough council at the 1937 elections. In January 1926 he was became a member of the London County Council when he was elected unopposed to fill a casual vacancy at Poplar, Bow and Bromley.
