Originally from from the remote planet of Wayland in the Outer Rim Territories, Nyrox lived in New Nystao, the capitol. Offworlders came to the planet sometimes and described other worlds to him, and thus he wanted to leave and see the galaxy In his youth, he gained credits by driving various vehicles to transport goods, hoping to get a transport off world. At the same time, Nyrox followed galactic politics by listening to various HoloNet news sources. In 17 BBY, he left Wayland to Coruscant, knowing it was the capitol. He lived in an apartment in the upper levels, managing to afford it with credits saved up for so long. In the days after arrival, he visited a tourist site in Imperial City nearby. The only security was a Chariot LAV command vehicle, and the officers of it were out of it. A Black Sun gang attacked the tourist site, killing the unprotected Imperial personnel easily by taking them off guard. From his driving of landspeeders earlier, Nyrox boarded the Chariot while the thugs were attempting to get Imperial Credits from the tourists. He killed off the thugs with the laser cannons of the vehicle. Several Coruscant Guard troopers arrived, and though Nyrox left before then, the eyewitnesses gave enough of a description on him. The Imperials tracked him to his apartment and offered him a place in the Imperial Army, seeing an example of his skill with ground vehicles. He accepted the offer, due to the prospect of driving new and more advanced vehicles. Nyrox was sent to the Raithal Academy, where the Galactic Empire trained Army officers. During the three year course at the Academy on Raithal, the young cadet caught the eye of General Maximilian Veers. He saw a lot of potential in Nylox, who was training as a pilot for the Assault Armor Division. He demonstrated a lot of skill in piloting various vehicles, including walkers. Veers then recruited him into the Thundering Herd, his AT-AT squadron. Nyrox graduated at the rank of lieutenant and fought in the Galactic Civil War. He quickly became a captain, and eventually a major. Veers made him the pilot of the lead walker, Thunderer One. Heavily decorated during the war, he continued serving after the Battle of Endor, under Grand Admiral Thrawn confederation, and later the Dark Empire. He was known to be a skilled driver by General Maximilian Veers, who gave him command of his elite Thundering Herd AT-AT squadron. Though Nyrox could drive most of the Empire's vehicles, he preferred the AT-AT due to it's size and weaponry. Nyrox also possessed much physical strength. As with all Army pilots, he had a huge ego.
