The Giant scops owl (Otus gurneyi), also known as the lesser eagle-owl and Mindanao eagle-owl, is a species of scops owl in the Strigidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines. In size and structure, it is considered intermediate between a scops owl and an eagle-owl. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
