The loyalists were led by the Prophet of Truth with the Brutes replacing the Elites as the new military leaders and protectors of the Prophets. Other races soon joined the faction too: Grunts, Jackals, Drones and Hunters. The Prophet of Mercy also acted as a leader within the faction but died before the loyalists left the Flood-consumed High Charity.

The loyalists were led by the Prophet of Truth with the Brutes replacing the Elites as the new military leaders and protectors of the Prophets. The Prophet of Mercy also acted as a leader within the faction but died before the loyalists left the Flood-consumed High Charity. The loyalists went to Earth with the intentions of destroying Humanity but their forces and Anti-Air weapons were eliminated, so Truth and his fleet went through a portal to the Ark where the loyalists planned on firing the Halo Array. Brutes captured Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson and planned on using the soldier to make him activate Halo. But John 117 and Thel 'Vadam arrived at the Citadel and fought through the waves of Covenant loyalists, then finally confronted Truth. John stopped the rings, and Truth was killed by Thel.

According to some expanded universe stuff, most of the Grunts and Hunters actualy separated, going with the elites, but they are never seen on your side in Halo 3 because they all went to kick the loyalists out of their homeworlds, leaving the elites to say sorry to the humans and kill the Aids.
