| - The Viris Mundi or Global Powers was an alliance that existed between July 9, 1929 and December 25, 1933 as a military pact between the three major powers at the time: the Romans, the Japanese and the Mayans. Their goal in creating this alliance was twofold. First they wished to provide greater unity between themselves in order to counteract the recently formed Allied Coalition. Second they intended to enforce their own personal controls over the planet by combining their already impressive military and economic forces. The end result was an alliance more powerful than any other which had existed up to that point. Had the Second World War occurred like a normal war, with declarations and then the start of hostilities, the Viris Mundi would have undoubtedly won within a few months. However, the Allied Coalition did the intelligent but underhanded move of preemptively wiping out most of their war capabilities. Although crippled, the VM mustered their forces to survive long enough for their formidable economies to rebuild the rest of their military and stage a counterattack. Unfortunately for them, the Alliance was relentless in their attacks and it took over a year for even a marginal recovery to be possible. In short through technological ingenuity, resulting in the development of both intercontinental ballistic missiles and atomic devices, and industrial power, the Global Powers managed to end the war in their favor and achieve their original goal of dominating the planet militarily. A year after their victory, the Viris Mundi was dissolved and became the Alliance of Earth, an organization which fought in the Third World War and still exists to this day.
