John and Rosie pull away from each other as Sally enters the classroom. John explains that Rosie didn't start the fight. Sally asks John if she can resume her English lessons with him. John feels obliged to agree. Lloyd, Steve and Jamie are supposed to be going on a lads' night out but they can't get a cab. Jamie's secretly relieved as he's enjoying chatting to Violet. Lee, a boy from school, chats Rosie up. John's quietly jealous. Kayleigh drags Jerry out of the Rovers. She and Finlay haven't had any tea and Mel's stuck in the shop by herself.
