It was repaired, but then burned down again. Daniel Boone once told the Kanien'kehá:ka Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton that the lighthouse was supposedly haunted. Climbing to the top of the tower, Connor discovered the ghost was merely a scarecrow. When the British Army left Boston Harbor in 1776, they blew up the entire lighthouse. A new lighthouse was built in 1783, and it still stands today.
