The Smoldering Core is a legendary staff in Diablo III. It requires character level 31 to drop. The bearer's own Meteor skill (including the Tal Rasha's Elements Meteors) will lure lesser enemies to its impact point (before the impact itself) for 2 seconds. It does not have a cooldown, but each enemy can only be lured once every 6 seconds. Obviously, using this staff with the Thunder Crash rune is mostly pointless.
