Throughout his career, Walker mainly participated in open competition events on dirt and asphalt up and down the Pacific Coast region. Walker is a two-time track champion on the asphalt at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka, California where he also raced on the dirt prior to the track being paved. Walker claimed the super stock title in back-to-back years in 1988 as well as in 1989. After the 1990 season, Walker went back to racing solely in late model open competition events while also making infrequent starts in the Northwest and Southwest touring series. Walker continues to race today on occasion in the North State Challenge late model series which races at tracks in Northern California and Southern Oregon.
