After Ratchet, Clank, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr retook the artifact from the Space Pirates, they attempted to figure out it's function. Cronk and Zephyr argued over the function of the artifact, Zephyr claimed he knew it's true purpose, stating his mother was half Lombax and that he used to make these gizmos out of paper mache. Cronk angrily disagreed, claiming the device was a Zombie Death Beam Emitter, capable of wiping out all life in the galaxy, which made Zephyr yell at him for wanting to put batteries into the device. Talwyn told them both to shut up as she tried to figure it out. After Ratchet slyly asked if she need help, Talwyn in frustration threw the device to Ratchet. The device quickly activated, causing Cronk to panic as the device emitted the "Zombie Death Beam!" The beam in question did not end all life as they knew, and instead showed a holo-map, revealing the Lombax Artifact was merely just a star map. Looking through the device's holo-map, Talwyn realized the device listed Rykan V, which suggested the true Lombax Secret might be on Rykan V.
