| - Cherrybomb is the tenth studio album by British recording artist, Lottie. It is her first studio album since the release of Heat in late 2003. Cherrybomb was preceded by the jazz influenced lead single "Some Kind Of Wonderful" and was released worldwide in October 2007. The American release of Cherrybomb took place in April 2008. The US version has alternate cover art and a slightly altered track listing. Four other singles were also released from the album; Cherrybomb, Trip The Light Fantastic, Can You Hear Me? and All About You. Recording for the album began in late 2006 following Thompson's extended break from the music industry due to the birth of her first child. Her pregnancy and break meant that Thompson had kept out of the public eye for almost four years which led to speculation that she was never going to return to music. Lottie did not make any public appearances since early 2004, during the promotion for her ninth studio album Heat, nor did she release any statements which suggested a new album was in the making. The release of the album's lead single; "Some Kind Of Wonderful" came as a shock to fans around the world. Like all of Lottie's albums up until that point, Cherrybomb received generally positive critical reception but similar to her previous album, Heat, the record under-performed on the charts and became Lottie's second album not to peak within the top 100 in the UK album chart. Nonetheless, Cherrybomb was nominated for two BRIT Awards; Best International Album and Pop Album.
