| - The Galactic Republic, or simply the Republic was the government of the galaxy for millennia. It faced wars in the beginning of its time, such as the Great Hyperspace War and the Great Sith War, but was mainly peaceful until the time of the Clone Wars. The Republic is featured in many games, including Knights of the Old Republic I and II, Battlefront I and II, and others. The Galactic Republic had an army of clones during the Clone Wars period, which called itself the Grand Army of the Republic, or GAR.
