A majority of the galaxy was enslaved by the Empire, the Jedi are all but extinct, and the Rebel Alliance didn't exist yet. With the Empire spread across the galaxy, many have begun to lose hope that the Empire would ever lose control. However, hope would return because of a very unlikely group of heroes.
