The hectosecond (hs) is a unit of time in the International System of Units, defined as 102 seconds using the SI prefix system. Hectosecond is equal to 1.6 minutes, so it can be used to specify periods of time that last for minutes. Light from the Sun takes five hectoseconds to reach Earth. There are 36 hectoseconds in an hour.
