3-S was a chrome-colored droid owned by the Chiss pirate Captain Swagg, prior to the Invasion of Naboo. The captain desired to steal several Gungan relics from the Gungan Sacred Place and to this end, he employed 3-S along with its fellow droids 4-S and 5-S to destroy the arena in Lake Umberbool, but the attempt was thwarted by Jar Jar Binks and Major Fassa resulting in the destruction of 4-S. 3-S and 5-S were then captured by the Security Forces of Otoh Gunga and were de-activated, but Swagg returned to the city and released the droids.
