Balderich along with the Crusaders were seen in the battle of Stuttgart, where German armies defended the city against the advance of a Bastion army. Later, in one of the most famous battles of the Omnic Crisis, Balderich and a handful of his best soldiers defended Eichenwalde, making a last stand against the advancing automaton army. Outnumbered and outgunned, they were ultimately slain during the resulting combat. However, thanks to their valiant efforts, the German military was able to push back the omnic offensive and win the fight.
