  • The backbone of the Pirate Armada, the Plunderer-class cruisers, have been a thorn in the Federation’s side for several years. Until a short while ago the Plunderers were regarded as under-armed and weakly armored, complemented by an unwieldy weapon system which made the ships slow and cumbersome in combat. But this has changed. The pirates have replaced the outdated combat systems with new Phazon-based weapons. In addition, a highly efficient Phazon drive is now found in all Plunderers. These upgrades make these ships more than evenly matched opponents for the Federation's counterparts.
