Tory Kinnon (born 1978, Train Village) is a member of the Green Party and a prominent gay rights activist. He had been a gay rights activist to various degrees since his teenage years because of discrimination he faced from his peers and even his family growing up. However, he was not drawn into politics until after a traumatizing incident in 2011. Tim van der Heuvel, who was his partner at the time and whom he had known since 2000, was brutally killed heading home after a LGBT conference in Train Village, in a very likely homophobia-motivated attack. After a rather long but rather insuccessful trial, from which the perpetrators of the attack "got away too easily" in Kinnon's opinion, he decided to leave Train Village and moved into the Wikicity Building, Transcity, Noble City in mid-2012.

After a rather long but rather insuccessful trial, from which the perpetrators of the attack "got away too easily" in Kinnon's opinion, he decided to leave Train Village and moved into the Wikicity Building, Transcity, Noble City in mid-2012. There, he met the hosts of The Trio Presents after a few months. Since the trial, he had already decided that going into politics was the best way to prevent incidents like Tim's death happening again, and to "avenge" it. The Trio Presents quickly introduced him to the Green Party, which he joined in November 2012.
