A lightaxe were the weapons used by warriors in the galaxy of the Sith-Gods. They looked like long wooden staffs, but when injected with Force gold axe heads materialized at each end. Unlike lightsabers lightaxes did not cauterize. Meaning, if cut, a victim would bleed. It was for this reason that the Sith-Gods corrupted men with the Force and had them battle one another with these weapons.
