The hazard switch, formerly called the feature switch, is an exclusive feature in Super Smash Flash 2 which allows players to switch off stage hazards and other stage changes. This was added mainly for tournaments, so that competitive players could play on a wider variety of stages - both neutral and counterpick. It should be noted, however, that despite the hazard switch, some stages are still banned in tournaments, as their layouts, rather than hazards, may damage competitive play.
