| - The Dark Lord Arksis Nan, after giving his previous Sith Sword to Renato Farani at the end of the Battle of Onderon, set out to craft himself the ultimate melee weapon as a true test of his abilities. Using special crystals that held the essence of the destroyed planet Korriban, Arksis worked for two straight weeks, with no rest, infusing his creation with their Dark Side essences. The black blade that emerged from his labors would become known as Necroban. The name, a combination of the words "necrotic" and "Korriban," is an apt description of the sword's power and origin. In addition to the normal abilities of a Sith Sword, it has a necrotic effect on just about any solid material that the blade's edges touch. Only pure energy, such as a lightsaber, or some substance that has been alchemically treated to handle the power of the Dark Side, has a chance of withstanding this effect. Later, the sword's power began to escalate, giving Arksis the ability to extend the necrotic effect out from the blade and even use it to nullify Force powers used against him. Thanks in part to the sword's impressive power and the equally impressive craftsmanship that went into creating Necroban, Arksis was seen as being worthy enough to be inducted into the Cult of Shadow's Inner Circle. The sword served Arksis well throughout the War of Darkness, but was eventually lost when the Dark Lord went up against Asemir Lor’kora and Teshran Lor at the same time during the Battle of Arcanix. Arksis fought well, with the sword continually feeding him power, but he was eventually outwitted and outmaneuvered by Teshran with Asemir's aid. Necroban was knocked into a lava pit underneath the Shadow Temple and sank into the planet. The temple itself was soon razed, burying the weapon further. Many believe that Necroban was not destroyed by the lava and is merely lost, waiting for the day when someone finds a way to retrieve it and claim its great power...
