| - The Mamore Northern Colonial Military Garrison, known more commonly as the Lost Battalion, was a unit of the Colonial Military Administration on the Outer Colony of Mamore. Originally formed in 2487 after it was discovered the northern regions of Mamore were havens for marauding pirates and outlaws, the unit proved to be relatively effective in allaying the population's fears and, to an extent, driving some of the bands away. However, as the Insurrection dawned, the unit became more and more sympathetic to the Insurrectionists. In 2513, as leaked news of the razing of Far Isle made its way across the colonies, the commander of the unit, one Colonel William Porton, declared to his men that the unit was now part of the Insurrectionists. In order to cover up the disappearance of a whole garrison, Porton collaborated with the local rebel units to stage an elaborate fake attack to make it as if the unit had been wiped out, and, to prevent the secret from getting out, Porton had those who refused to join the rebels shot. This sham earned the unit the moniker "Lost Battalion". However, the unit reappeared seven months later in the north, this time fighting alongside the Insurrectionists. The unit continued to both train rebel fighters to fill its ranks, and make operations, until it was effectively wiped out in 2537 by the SPARTAN-IIIs of Alpha Company, with a few of the survivors escaping to Venezia, with one eventually becoming commander of the New Tyne Revolutionary Guard.
