The War of Lords was a civil war in the Khanate of the Banster. The war was started after the Khan Aldrkai III tried to centralize the Khanate of the Banster by restricting several Bek's underneath him. The Bek's resisted and denounced his rule. The war started in the year Aldrkai ascended his father's throne and ended five years after he died, making the war last almost sixty years. The island of Kathuristan was conquered by Aldrkai Khan halfway during the war, around 1065, after one of the Bek's fled there. After the war ended the Khanate was centralized but severely weakened, which ultimately caused the failure of the Khanate to defend against the Ahmadi Caliphate in 1131.
