This is the general discussion page for the wiki! New founders should leave a nice welcome message and encourage new visitors and editors to leave a note to get the conversation started. It looks like no-one is about to start this conversation so I guess I will. I did have a question: When doing an rp mission, should the combat be based off clever emoting or /roll numbers? Bob Namataki 16:05, December 16, 2009 (UTC) I agree with dave, you have to know your character's bounds and weaknesses.

Bob Namataki 16:05, December 16, 2009 (UTC) Clever emoting, if those participating ar emature enough to handle such things. Rolling for consequences is all well and good, but it leaves characters abilities down to luck, and in th eend makes them look completly stupid. Say, for example, there is a slow blade swing incoming on my character, Soraya. She's an expert swordsman. I roll a 1, and she has to look a complete idiot because of it. It breaks her character traits and breaks my immersion. On the other hand, something happens that I don't believe she could handle well, and I roll a 10. She has to do well, despite me thinking this is stupid. Having full control of your character is always best. You just have to be careful of people who don't know thier own bounds, and don't know when to realistically give up, or fail. It's a fine line to walk, but more rewarding. Davo86 18:03, December 16, 2009 (UTC) I agree with dave, you have to know your character's bounds and weaknesses. a lot of people think that just because their character has experienced hardship and has 'seen it all' in war that they are invincible and that everyone else is an amateur, this is of course not the case. If people know when they are beat and know when an opponent is the stronger (regardless of level) then rp fighting is much more enjoyable - Shatarlore
