  • Whitecough and greencough are the most common chest infections known to the Clan cats. Whitecough is the milder form, but if untreated, it can develop into the much more severe greencough. Cats usually catch it during leaf-fall and leaf-bare. It can be fatal for elders and kits. It has claimed the lives of several cats. It spreads quickly and is highly contagious. Whitecough- Whitecough is the weakest of chest infections. When a cat catches Whitecough ensure you have plenty of Catmint, or ivy. Keep the cat warm and separate from others. Try to ensure the cat stays away from elders or kits. Keep the cat warm and dry and ensure they have a decent amount of fresh air to open up their lungs. Keep them hydrated and eating well. Greencough- Greencough is highly contagious. To keep it from spreading keep the cat away from others especially kits and elders. Same rules apply to Greencough as Whitecough only a higher dose of catmint. Kittencough- Kittencough is probably worse because it only spreads in kits. Give the kit pawpaw to help cure it. Drip water down their nose so they sneeze out all the snot so they cant breath better through their nostrils. Rub their chest to loosen up up cough. Try having the kit yowl their head off to clear their chest. Keep them warm, well eating and hydrated. As well as keeping them dry. Keep the kits separate from the sick one. Blackcough- Blackcough is awful. Blackcough is when the cat is coughing up blood. There isn't much to do but giving them strengthing herbs and coltsfoot. Catmint might help to ease the cough so they don't cough up blood. Blackcough is very rare and hardly anything is known about it. We currently aren't sure if it's spreadable. I'm pretty sure it is not contagious from research on the Warrior cats wiki. one remedy that MIGHT work is wild strawberries.
