In the year 2651, this genetic engineering lab on Sivad was established by Doctor James Eddings with the public purpose of developing cures for inheritable diseases. It was eventually learned, however, that it was merely a front for an illegal Stellar Consortium military project. The government was attempting to design a perfect warrior to defend against what officials expected was the inevitable Nall invasion. The scandal led to the killing of General Dimitri Volstov (or his clone, as it turned out), the suicide of Consortium President Eduard Ocartus, Jr., and the ascent to power of Laurence Montevedo. Technology developed in the Bright Horizons lab eventually got used to create the notorious Legion Virus.
