  • Niels Henrik David Bohr (IPA: [/nels ˈb̥oɐ̯ˀ/]) (7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made fundamental contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. Bohr mentored and collaborated with many of the top physicists of the century at his institute in Copenhagen. He was also part of the team of physicists working on the Manhattan Project. Bohr married Margrethe Nørlund in 1912, and one of their sons, Aage Niels Bohr, grew up to be an important physicist who, like his father, received the Nobel prize, in 1975. Bohr has been described as one of the most influential physicists of the 20th century

During the 1930s, Bohr helped refugees from Nazism. In September 1943, word reached Bohr that he was about to be arrested by the Germans, and he fled to Sweden. From there, he was flown to Britain, where he joined the British Tube Alloys nuclear weapons project, and was part of the British mission to the Manhattan Project. Bohr mentored and collaborated with many of the top physicists of the century at his institute in Copenhagen.
  • Niels Henrik David Bohr (; 7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. Bohr was also a philosopher and a promoter of scientific research.
  • Niels Henrik David Bohr (October 7, 1885 - November 18, 1962) was a human physicist, a pioneer in the field of quantum mechanics. Bohr was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Along with Ernest Rutherford, he developed the standard model of the atom as a nucleus orbited by electrons. Bohr received the 1922 Nobel Prize for physics. Bohr originated the principle of complementarity, according to which a quantum mechanical entity can be regarded as either a particle or a wave. He later worked on the Manhattan Project, which developed the first atomic bomb.
